The Virginia Diner is the longest running roadside Diner in the State of Virginia and has been in continuous operation since the fall of 1929. So we've made a lot of hot chocolate over the years. We know good hot chocolate, and our restaurant inspired Salted Caramel Cocoa Mix is one of the best! Makes 7 servings.
The Virginia Diner was established in 1929 and has been a traditional stop along the highway for thousands of travelers over the years. During this same time, America was headed into the Great Depression. Automobiles became the main source of transportation. The need for roadside accommodations grew out of our passion for exploring and traveling the open road. Because the early roads were sometime primitive, dusty, and filled with potholes, the roadside diners and motels were an oasis-- and sometimes the best part of the trip!
